THE FABRIC OF HOPE

 

Stitches of Hope is committed to the poor of Cambodia by;

  • Using threads of love to bring hope to underprivileged widows and orphans
  • Weaving dignity, opportunity and empowerment into the lives of the poor
  • Making strong cloth from faith, education, health and training
  • Stitching with passion, creativity, sensitivity, integrity, respect, faithfulness, loyalty and love for the glory of God

 

STATEMENT OF FAITH

 

We believe in:

  • God our Father, maker of heaven and earth
             who is active in His world
                       giving love and hope
  • Jesus Christ, Son of the living God
             who has mercy on sinners
                       promising healing and wholeness
  • Holy Spirit, breath of the triune God
             who sanctifies and renews
                        bringing peace and joy

 

STITCHES OF HOPE VALUES

 

Compassion - We value compassion believing it is a characteristic of the living God, planting in us a desire to help those who are suffering.

 

Equality - We value equality believing all children, regardless of their place of birth, should have access to education and health services, a reason to hope, and a chance to achieve their potential, free from prejudice and discrimination.

 

Justice - We value justice as fairness in distribution of opportunity and aim for the best outcomes for those most vulnerable.

 

Integrity - We value integrity believing that consistency in actions, values, methods, measurers, principles and morals is the finest commitment we can make to wholeness.

 

Respect - We value respect for building the esteem of all participants and understand it is best expressed in courtesies given and received.

 

COMPLIANCE

 

Stitches of Hope complies with:

  • The Kingdom of Cambodia’s Minimum Standards on Alternative Care for Children and their child protection policy.
  • Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission
  • Western Australia’s Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s consumer protection division (Associations and Charities Branch) which oversees charitable collections
  • WA’s Charities Code of Practice (voluntary commitment to ethical standards)
